We're back after a wee break. We are deeply saddened that our team member and close friend Tom Bain recently passed away. Tom had suggested this issue's theme of how people can and do improve their lives, their communities and Scotland, all of which Tom spent his life doing. Ralph Waldo Emerson's poem describes perfectly how truly successful Tom's life was.
As always, we are grateful to our contributors, advertisers and distributors. This issue is dedicated to a very special man, our Tom.
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate the beauty in others;
To leave the world a bit better
Whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
to know that one life has breathed easier because you lived here.
This is to have succeeded.
